I can’t live without… people that I love
Chic and classy. My closet is full of skirts and dresses – I’ve never been a big fan of pants. I do wear pants sometimes as it’s comfortable (especially on your bike!), but my style is more womanly. Trying to find a perfect balance between business and casual outfits.
Oh, there are so many sources… For starters, there is Vogue and other magazines like ELLE or Harper’s Bazaar. The Fashion Week is great for trend scouting too. Besides, a lot of inspiration comes from other bloggers. I stay tuned with Negin Mirsalehi, Pink Peonies by Rach Parcell, The Fashion Guitar by Charlotte Groeneveld, Maffashion by Julia Kuczyńska and many more! I have quite a few of my favorite fashionista’s. Finally, you can look for trends on social media or just on the streets. Pretty much everything around you can inspire – you just have to be open to it!
There is gonna be a lot of khaki and yellow colors. Shoulder cutouts will be back I think. Oh, and sleeve slits. I looove that trend! As for the must-have items, there are two things: a camel trench coat and nude heels. It’s kind of a challenge to find a good pair of nude shoes: not only they have to be nice and comfortable but also match with your skin color. If you do find a perfect pair, you’re a lucky girl! They look classy, match with so many things and make your legs look amazing!
When I just moved to the Netherlands, I noticed that men are usually more fashionable than women. I was super impressed by that! Girls go for comfy looks. For example, even when they wear a dress they would put on sneakers. I think that must be because they cycle so much. I also notice a lot of oversized jackets and sweaters. Long and warm scarfs. Many girls wear hats. And glasses! Even when it’s not sunny they are wearing glasses.
What I’m really looking forward to is the result of their collaboration with The Walt Disney Company. To celebrate the release of Beauty and the Beast, Disney offered six young designers to develop and present their own fashion creations inspired by it. I liked the idea as my own blog – Andzelika in Wonderland – is kind of fairy-tale inspired. So, I’m really curious about what they will come up with. As for the rest, I’m sure Amsterdam Fashion Week will be incredible, just like all its previous editions. It’s always well-organized, with lots of things to surprise the audience with.
I live close to the Vondelpark and like going there when the weather is nice. Westergasfabriek is great, something’s happening there all the time. De Laatste Kruimel – a small and cozy lunch place on Rokin – is one of my favorites for meetings with friends. Coffee Concepts is perfect for a cup of coffee. I like Tales & Spirits for a drink. That place is bizarre and the drinks are delicious. In short, I love everything about the city. Even simply sitting by a canal is already entertaining enough for me.
