  • Body Worlds permanent exposition Amsterdam

If you want to know how a human body is composed, but find anatomy’s books somewhat boring, this exposition suits you and your kids. From January 16th 2014 plasticized corpses and body parts will be displayed in the American Express office at Damrak 66.

The inventor of Plastination is Gunther von Hagens, a German anatomist which has taken his exhibition in America, Africa, Asia, and Europe; “In 1977, I decided to make this project the focus of my life and have been continually improving the process ever since” says in his biography.

What is plastination? Is a relatively simple process designed to preserve the body for educational and instructional purposes and allows to observe how the human body is while doing everyday’s activities. The result is truly amazing: chess players, a gorilla and a man riding a horse are just a few examples of this extraordinary work which in 2011/2012 (Body Worlds & The Story of the Heart) has attracted more than 200,000 visitors at the Amsterdam EXPO and in Rotterdam.

The exhibition will be open everyday Mon / Sat 9:00 – 18:00 and Thu / Fri till 21:00 (last admission one hour before closing).

Discover the effect of happiness on your health in the exhibition with real human bodies. Book your tickets here.
