    The Netherlands has an impressive 106 Michelin star restaurants, many of those are right in the vibrant cosmopolitan city of Amsterdam. Michelin bases its merit system by what’s on the plate, the quality of products used, mastering of flavours and cooking, personality of the cuisine, value for money and the consistency of what the restaurant produces throughout the year. Here are some of the best Michelin star restaurants in Amsterdam.

    The peculiarly named restaurant is a luxury and molecular dining experience in Amsterdam’s city centre. Chef Moshik Roth creates delicious signature dishes using a globally inspired combination of ingredients.     Yamazato – 1 star  
    Address: Ferdinand Bolstraat 333, 1072 LH Amsterdam

    Yamazato, located in the Amsterdam’s Okura Hotel, is renowned for its menu boasting more than fifty specialties. Serving traditional Japanese dishes in a 15th and 16th century Sukiya style interior has earned this restaurant a Michelin star. Pristine sushi is melt-on-the-tongue fresh, but it’s the kaseiki menu that really shows off the chefs’ skills.     Located in Amsterdam Zuid around the corner from the popular Albert Cuyp markets, Le Restaurant is a relatively small place with only 20 seats which only adds to its intimate, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Exceptionally fresh ingredients and a classic French menu with a personal twist have earned Le restaurant its Michelin star. Their five-course seasonal menu changes monthly.
