Early this month opens the new and exciting restaurant ‘Taiko by Schilo’, following the closing of Restaurant Tunes at the Conservatorium Hotel. The Asian inspired restaurant will serve Chef Schilo Van Coevorden’s authentic and classic Asian dishes.
Inspired since his youth by the Far East, Schilo has had ample experience with the masters of Asian cuisine, working extensively around Asia including Japan, Hong Kong and Dubai. Chef Van Coevorden combines his love of Asian cuisine and the skills, techniques and flavours he has discovered in the Far East with local and seasonal ingredients adding a little European touch.
You can expect sashimi-grade tuna (which is sustainably sourced in Europe), sizzling beef on the BQQ that is either delicious Dutch entrecote or mouth-watering Japanese Wagyu beef, fresh sushi and so many more Asian inspired delights.
The name Taiko refers to the traditional Japanese drum, which will also be a musical feature at the restaurant every evening by a live Taiko player. Taiko also has its own Sake sommelier, sourcing the finest Sake from a traditional Japanese artisan microbrewery, which is quite a rarity in European restaurants.
Taiko by Schilo will open its doors to the public on September 9th and will continue to open from Monday to Saturday from 18:30 to 22:30. For more information on the new restaurant visit www.conservatoriumhotel.com
