1- Tunue de Nimes
Award winning shop specialized in jeans. Although shop here is an understatement, whether you are into a classic pair of Levis or a fan of Rogue Territory you this is Denim Heaven. Located in a spacious building do get mesmerized by the stacks of jeans and don’t forget to spot the stuffed animals
Described as an ethnic jewellery shop, it offers a delightful range of beautifully crafted jewelery as well as pottery, ornaments and the stuff that we miss out on noticing because there is just so much to be seduced by. Like an orientalist’s dream this shop will offer you the ultimate Eastern flavoured fantasy.
3- Jefferson Hotel
Top street style in a unique setting. Avelon, Deus, Closed, Firma, American Vintage, you name it, this stylish hotel has it to offer. Wait, did I say hotel? The setting very effectively designed to look like a hotel reception expresses the business’ concept, that of combining ‘the consideration and care of the hospitality industry with high-end men’s fashion’
4- Smit- Cruyff Sports Shop
Not much from the outside but once inside there is something incredibly cool and classic about this shop. Unadorned and overloaded I doubt the shop has changed much since the 1940s when it was first opened. Co- founded by the footbaler Johan Cruyff’s brother the shop was inevitably going to excel. The introduction of global brands such as Nike and Puma to the Netherlands was actually through this very shop. As the Elandsgracht street manager put it herself ‘Smit- Cruyff is like a cult shop’. And the owners will welcome you in with the warmest of smiles.
5- Hollywood Mark
For a lifelong skin-deep purchase in a mexican themed interior check out the tattoo designs at Hollywood Mark. If the Dutch tattooist legend Henk Schiffmacher was impressed by Mark’s talent (Hence the shop’s name!), you are bound to be too.
