One of the things the Netherlands is famous for is water management. Even though the country is pretty good at this already, the Dutch are never tired to improve. In cooperation with Hemelswater, Knowledge Mile Amsterdam and brewery De Prael, Amsterdam Volkshotel has managed to brew beer out of rainwater and now invites you to taste it! Have a drink, learn the story behind it and enjoy the great local jazz talents. The entrance is free.

Four years ago, a mysterious night circus came to the Dutch capital. That was the very first edition of Valhalla Festival, an unbelievable night full of wonders, crazy fun and electronic music. Since then, the festival’s become a good tradition, and this year Amsterdam welcomes the latest, fifth, edition of a bizarre Valhalla ride. Dare to hop in?

Do you have an ugly Christmas sweater or were you planning on buying one? Are you into running or simply want to join something fun for the weekend? If so, this event is just for you! Run (or walk!) the merriest 5km of the year, compete for the best costume prize and join the drinks afterward. Sounds like a wonderful pre-party before Christmas, doesn’t it?
Finally, don’t forget about the Light Festival that will be there until January 22, as well as the Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival and the ice rink on Museumplein open until February 5. Also, a couple of Christmas markets are still on. Check it out!
Seems like that’s all for this week! Did you like our Amsterdam guide? Then stay tuned for more: we promise to create the similar one every week!
