Welcome to our weekly Amsterdam guide! Let’s look at what the Dutch capital has to offer!
On the third Saturday of January, the Dutch celebrate a very special holiday – National Tulip Day. The event takes place on the main city square, turning it into a huge pop-up live garden with over 200,000 flowers. Enjoy the new colors of Dam and pick up a couple of free tulips to beautify your house!
The Whisky Weekend is a tasty getaway from a busy work week you’re living through right now. Immerse yourself in a wonderful world of whisky, listen to traditional Scottish music and taste a bunch of delicious snacks to decide which ones pair with your drink perfectly.
FOR REAL is an annual art fair that takes place at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam. Dedicated to figurative art, it provides both well-known and newcomer artists with a vast platform to present their works to the public. Visit to enjoy (and potentially buy) the beautiful figurative artworks and meet their creators.
January 21 – May 7
Starting from the 21st of January, the EYE Film Museum welcomes a new exhibition – Till the End of the World by Béla Tarr. Known for his deeply poignant and influential films, the Hungarian filmmaker presents his very last scene, making a poetic but yet strong political statement regarding the attitudes towards refugees in Europe.
Finally, if you still haven’t taken a walk through the city to explore the Light Festival, it’s just about time to do so, as it will be over very soon. See the following link for the list of 10 best artworks you can’t miss! Also, the Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival and the ice rink on Museumplein will be there until February 5.
