Welcome to our weekly Amsterdam guide! Let’s look at what the Dutch capital has to offer!
From April 17th until April 23rd, Europe’s denim capital turns indigo blue. Amsterdam Denim Days is a week full of denim-related events organized in Amsterdam for the fourth year in a row. Fancy to join and meet the rest of the denim enthusiasts to celebrate all things indigo? You are very welcome!
Flower Parade is an annual event taking place in the bulb growing area. The parade consists of about twenty floats and over forty special vehicles decorated with hyacinths, tulips and daffodils. The procession starts in Sassenheim on April 19th and ends up in Haarlem on April 21st. Catch it anywhere along the way! See here for the route and other details.
21 April – 21 May
Elm trees have been an integral part of Amsterdam’s cityscape for centuries, which is why the season where they throw their seeds “as natural confetti all over the city” is a great cause for celebration! Follow the recommended route to enjoy this magical beauty at your own pace or join one of the events planned for this year’s edition (including a free tour with a guide!).
IJ Hallen is the biggest and the most extraordinary flea market in Europe that sells all kinds of things! Stock up on second-hand clothes and shoes. ‘Dig up’ a vintage bag or an antique lamp that costs less than a cup of coffee. Find everything you’re looking for and even more!
