21-27 October / Westergasfabriek
Every year during the autumn school holidays, the Cinekid Festival welcomes young audiences to the exciting world of media entertainment. During the ten days of the festival, children are given the opportunity to take part in workshops and masterclasses and watch over 500 media productions selected for the festival.
25-31 October / various locations
The 25th of October marks the beginning of the Amsterdam Halloween Festival, more than a week of ‘bloody good fun’. The festival covers kids’ events, make-up workshops, an all-night movie marathon and, of course, parties, the biggest of which is TOYLAND Halloween Party held on the 28th of October.
26 October / Cinecenter
Join Cine Expat Amsterdam for their monthly foreign language film screenings with English subtitles. Next on the agenda is Belgian crime drama Le Fidèle from Oscar-nominated director Michaël R. Roskam (Bullhead). Tickets are €10 or free with Cineville cards.
27-29 October / Beurs van Berlage
PINT Bokbierfestival is a three-day long beer festival held in the Beurs van Berlage in late October. Offering over 100 different types of beer, the festival has a pretty simple concept: get a glass at the entrance and drink to your heart’s content!
27 October / Nieuwmarkt
The new deli and lifestyle market on the Nieuwmarkt takes place every last Friday of the month. Stop by to buy groceries for the week, try the delicious street food and treat yourself to a piece of freshly baked cake. The entrance is free. Visit the New Market FB page for more information.
28 October / various locations
This year’s last edition of 24H Amsterdam – 24H Noord – takes place on the 28th of October in various venues north of the River IJ, showcasing the highlights of this area in a 24-hour period. There will be workshops at day and parties at night, tours around the city, special cinema performances, dance events and so much more.
28 October / RADION
To all fashionista’s, fans of vintage clothing and those who simply love to strike a good bargain. RADION Amsterdam hosts yet another Vintage Kilo Sale, and everyone is welcome! Stop by to stuff your bag with great clothes from the 70s, 80s and 90s and pay by weight. The price is €15 and there is no minimum or maximum weight. The entrance is free.
29 October / Park Frankendael
Pure Markt is a place to explore and taste delicious organic food of Holland and the rest of the world. Pick a few dishes to eat on the spot, stock up on foods for home, enjoy the sun and music. For the youngest visitors, there is a solar-powered merry-go-round! The entry is free.
