Welcome to our weekly Amsterdam guide! Let’s look at what the Dutch capital has to offer!
The Seafood Bar leads a double life. Quiet and peaceful by day, the restaurant turns into a late night bar every Friday. When the dinner is over, “we dim the lights, turn up the music and seduce you with our special oysters and matching cocktails”, says their website. And if that’s not tempting enough, there is a special price on oysters – just 1 euro each! Don’t miss a fun night out.
The long expected spring is almost there, and so is The Spirit of Amsterdam it brings along. If you’ve been longing for good whisky ever since The Whisky Weekend in January, here is your chance! The year of 2017 marks the fourth edition of the international whisky festival, allowing whisky lovers to taste more than 500 samples of their favorite drink.
Come to the ARTIS Planetarium between 19:00 and 23:00 on the 4th of March and catch a glimpse of the beautiful starry sky through a telescope. Take a look at the craters on the moon, try to find a couple of star clusters and learn everything about the recently discovered Earth-like planets. Zoo admission tickets are not necessary, the event is free.
Held on the first Sunday of every month at Amsterdam’s lively Westergasfabriek, the Sunday Market is the place to be on Sunday afternoon. Offering a chance to shop for art, fashion, design and food at the same time, this beloved market brings together all foodies, rummagers and art lovers of the Dutch capital. The entrance is free.
Finally, it’s the last chance to take a look at the ice sculptures of The Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival. The festival is only there until the 5th of March.
Seems like that’s all for this week! Did you like our Amsterdam guide? Then stay tuned for more, we promise to create a similar one every week!
