Welcome to the international literature festival of Amsterdam! With a special focus on stories about ‘Black USA’ this year, the festival brings together authors, poets and journalists from around the world. The 5th edition of Read My World is taking place on 12, 13 and 14 October in the Tolhuistuin. Check out the program here!
13-15 October / Centrale Markthal
Butcher’s Heaven is all about meat and the ways to enjoy it! Over 25 restaurants and BBQ teams join forces to organize a true paradise for meat lovers this weekend, serving juicy burgers, tender ribs and steaks cooked to perfection. The entry is free on Friday (registration is required) and €7,50 on weekends.
14-15 October / IJ-Hallen
IJ Hallen is the biggest and the most extraordinary flea market in Europe that sells all kinds of things! Stock up on second-hand clothes and shoes. ‘Dig up’ a vintage bag or an antique lamp that costs less than a cup of coffee. Find everything you’re looking for and even more!
15 October / Olympisch Stadion
Held annually in mid-October, the TCS Amsterdam Marathon is the biggest running event of the Dutch capital. This year, the marathon takes place for the 42nd time! Register to take part yourself or come along to cheer for the runners.
15 October / Amsterdamse Bos
Pure Markt is a place to explore and taste delicious organic food of Holland and the rest of the world. Pick a few dishes to eat on the spot, stock up on foods for home, enjoy the sun and music. For the youngest visitors, there is a solar-powered merry-go-round! The entry is free.
