The music and life of David Bowie is celebrated under the banner ‘Celebrating Bowie’ in Paradiso. On this event there will be a selection of world artists, friends and people who have played together with David Bowie. A number of well known artists like Mike Garson will be present at ‘Celebrating Bowie’. No one has performed and recorded with Bowie longer than keyboard player Mike Garson. He leads ‘Celebrating Bowie’ and at least includes singer / guitarist Adrian Belew (Sound & Vision Tour) and guitarist Gerry Leonard (A Reality Tour). Together, the three top musicians have more than thirty years of experience in playing, writing and recording with David Bowie.

A film of the Mexican director Michel Franco, winner of the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. The plot starts with Valeria, a 17 years old pregnant girl. She lives in Puerto Vallarta with her sister Clara. Valeria has long hidden her pregnancy for her absent mother April, but because of the financial pressure and overwhelming responsibility to have a baby in the house, Clara decides to call their mother. April comes, ready to help her daughters, but it soon becomes clear why Valeria wanted to keep her at a distance.

Every year on January there is a party right at the Dam: the opening of the tulip season with the official kick-off in Amsterdam. On Saturday the 20th of January 2018 it is time again, then the Dam will be transformed by growers into a tulip pluck garden with no less than 200,000 colorful tulips. Extra fun: this year is the theme of the National Tulip Day ‘romance’. Tulips have a rich symbolism. Therefore is the perfect opportunity to create an unforgettable present for that special person.

In the third weekend of January the Posthoorn Church will be converted again to the Whiskey Walhalla of Amsterdam. More than 30 whiskey- and whiskey-related exhibitors will present their latest products to you, both on the ground floor as in the basement of the church.
